Agra, the city of Taj Mahal. Once the capital of Mughal empire during the 16th -17th century, Taj Mahal is the most famous architectural wonder of India. Standing on the bank of Yamuna river, it was built by the Mughal empire Shah Jahan in 1652 in the memory of his second wife Mumtaz. It tooks 22 years to build by 20,000 artisans who inlaid the white marbles, precious and semi precious stones. Taj Mahal is the world’s greatest monument of love. Taj Mahal draws upward 3 million visitors each year.

Afterwards, proceed to hotel in Agra where sumptuous buffet lunch awaits you.

After lunch visit the Agra fort. The construction of Agra fort started in 1665 and was completed in 1671. The fort is built alongside the Yamuna river and spreads over 2.5 km of area. It consist a wall of Red stone and several building inside. Agra fort is the finest example of fusion architecture that has dominated Mughal period.

Visit to a marble factory to see the beautyful inlays of precious, semi -precious and many more stones. These stones are laid in Indian marble, black marble and Indian green marble. Marble inlay is the same art which has been used on the walls of Taj Mahal.

Finally, before driving back to Delhi a brief visit to Sikandra - the tomb of the Mughal Empire Akbar. The tomb stands in the centre if vast garden, which is enclosed by high wall on all sides. The whole Garden is divided into four equal parts on the conventional Charbagh plan. Return to Delhi around 2130 hours stopping midway for refreshments.
